Real Recovery in Under 10 Minutes

No gods, sermons, or church basements and stale coffee.
Real Recovery stories from my f*cked-up mind and lessons learned along the trail. Written for you who are still standing and still trying. Or at least still growing. But most of all, you’re still trekking.
Each is designed to be read in less than 10 minutes, and why? Because we don’t have time for a seminar, but a wilderness to explore. Life to live.

A cyclist performs a daring jump off a rocky cliff under a cloudy sky.
Sometimes you just gotta take the jump.

“Real recovery doesn’t need a god. It needs honesty and the willingness to keep choosing life.”

The Real Recovery You’ll Find Here

You won’t find steps (well, maybe a few), cliches, Sunday sermons, or what some AI thinks you need to read.
You’ll find my scars, my blisters, my tears, my trail pack essentials, my wins. I’ll tell you what Real Recovery looks like for me. In my own words.
Raw. Unfiltered. Real-AF.
Sometimes pulled from the dirt and the weeds. Sometimes from the Sunlit sky.

Pick A Trailhead And See Where We Go

Real Recovery

The sometimes dark, cold, damp caves. Trails that have led me to the edge of the cliff, and too, the side-markers that kept me falling off the side of the mountain, even when all I wanted to do was to jump.

Nature as my Higher power

For me, it isn’t about gods, Mother Nature, or celestial beings we can’t understand. It is simply the example of how nature just never fucking gives up. Plants, trees, animals, bugs, organisms, the earth, and sky. They all choose life.

Mental health and Survival

I know addiction. Identity loss. Depression. Darkness. Self-harm, and I don’t have all the answers. I’m not healed and I’m not recovered, but I keep moving forward anyway.

Trail Notes

These are my experiences that, at the time, don’t seem to have much significance, but can sometimes be the most important lessons. Here, you might see something you relate to, or something that makes no goddamn sense, and that’s okay.

“Nature doesn’t care about my excuses, but it always shows me how to keep going.”

Watch, Read, Listen

real recovery you need? stick around

I’m not looking to go viral, and I don’t need a “pat on the back,” but if my stories help just one of you f*ck-ups like me, then that’s all the thanks I need.
There’s more to come, more trails, truth, and Real Recovery.
