What’s one thing you wish you had started doing earlier in life?
Honestly, I don’t know that I’d start anything earlier.
There are plenty of things I wish I’d figured out sooner.
I wish I’d understood myself better. I wish I’d stopped using earlier. I wish I’d spent less time chasing approval and trying to become who I thought everyone needed me to be.
But here’s the problem.
Every one of those shitty decisions came with a lesson.
Some lessons cost me more than others. Some took several attempts because apparently once wasn’t enough for me.
However, all of them helped build the person I am today.
If I went back and changed one thing, I have no idea what else changes with it.
Maybe I avoid some pain.
But maybe I also lose some humility, gratitude, resilience, or understanding that I only gained by fucking things up first.
I don’t romanticize the past. There are things I did that I regret, and there are consequences I wish other people never had to experience.
Still, I wouldn’t erase those years.
Because I genuinely like the person I’ve become.
More importantly, I’m grateful for the life I have today.
So maybe my answer is nothing.
I don’t wish I’d started anything earlier.
I just wish sometimes I hadn’t needed quite so many fucking lessons to finally learn some of it.
